About us

My name is Paul Bailey and I am a fully qualified Sports Therapist. I graduated from the University of Chichester in 2019 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy and I am proud member of the Sports Therapy Association.

Since graduating I have worked in three different private injury clinics. I have gained considerable hands-on experience working with spinal injuries and referred pain. People don’t always realise how many common conditions can be caused by the nerves mis-firing. Referred pain includes sciatica, numbness in the fingers, shin splints, muscle tightness and just general dull aches and pains. I am able to take a full history, before going on to an extensive examination and assessment. This enables me to tailor-make a treatment plan aimed at reducing or removing the pain using hands-on massage and manual therapy techniques. My treatment plans of course include on-going exercises for you to take away and use at home.

I have been the men’s 1st team physio at Worthing United FC since October 2019. Working with sports injuries in a live setting has given me experience of making rapid assessments and treating injuries as they occur. I aim to get players on the road to recovery with appropriate rehabilitation plans, allowing them to return to playing competitive sport as soon as possible. Working in a football environment has considerably broadened my knowledge and skill set allowing me to provide high quality treatment to clients from all walks of life.

At PB Therapy I use a wide range of techniques to treat patients. This includes the applications of sports massage, deep tissue massage, manual therapy techniques, taping and the distribution of effective rehabilitation relevant to each individual person allowing clients to reach their own personal goal.

About my Treatments

Sports Massage & Deep Tissue Massage – Sports massage isn’t just for sports people. It is beneficial to people of all occupations. Sports massage can reduce pain by:

  • Decreasing muscle tension,
  • Increasing range of motion,
  • Decreasing muscle soreness after physical activity,
  • Reducing recovery time post injury via promoting tissue healing and increasing blood circulation to aid removal of waste products.
  • Promoting relaxation and decreasing stress levels.
  • Sports massage can be beneficial to those suffering with back pain, headaches, sport specific injuries such as tennis elbow, muscle strains, joint sprains just to name a few.

Injury Diagnosis & Treatment – I examine and assess injuries using a number of skill sets with the aim of testing the integrity of different structures within the body to provide a diagnosis of the problem to the client. I perform treatment to the injury based on the findings of the assessment.

Rehabilitation – I tailor-make an effective and personalised rehabilitation plan providing exercises based on information collected throughout the session. These exercises will be designed for each individual to meet their own specific goals with the aim of facilitating a full recovery and ideally preventing the injury/pain coming back.

Client Reviews

”Excellent massage with Paul last week. He is very knowledgeable and listened as I described my numerous ailments and took me through exercises to do at home as well. Will definitely visit Paul again.” – Kathy

”I have had a recurring shoulder injury for any years and despite seeing several therapists the injury has never fully gone away.  I decided to try another therapist and after much research decided on Paul as he was young, newly qualified and seemed passionate about his work. I’m very pleased I did. Every other therapist has immediately concluded that my injury is the Rotator Cuff muscles and used various machine/equipment to treat it.  Paul listened and then after careful examination concluded that it was the Rotator Cuff muscles but also felt it was the Tricep Long Head muscle as well. Over the last few sessions he has given me intensive deep tissue/sports massage to my shoulder along with tailored exercises for me to do in between each visit. After all the years with restricted movement, my shoulder and upper arm has improved and my movement range increased.  I will continue my sessions until I am back to full health! I would thoroughly recommend Paul and find his enthusiasm and professionalism refreshing. As a young therapist he clearly has a bright future ahead.” – Stuart

”I get a weekly massage and attend physiotherapy having had ongoing knee injuries and operations for years. I thought it was the same problem again but Paul recognised a different issue, explained it and worked on it for an hour. I went from not being able to walk to 48 hours after the massage being able to comfortably put weight through it. I didn’t know how effective sports massage could be. Thanks Paul!” – Rosie

”Paul has set me up with rehabilitation programme following a shoulder dislocation. This has helped me massively with my recovery and has allowed me to start playing sport a lot quicker than I originally thought I would. Would highly recommend Paul to anyone.” – Joe
